PowerLink Digital Partners develops decentralized, closed-loop power systems for locations the electrical grid cannot economically reach — converting stranded natural gas, tire and plastic waste, critical minerals positions, and hydro resources into on-site electricity.
What we build
The premise is narrow and specific: the constraint on the AI buildout is electricity, not silicon. Getting a large new load connected to the grid means joining an interconnection queue where U.S. projects reaching commercial operation in 2024 waited a median of roughly 55 months, and where new transmission commonly takes ten to fifteen years to build. Those timelines are documented on our Sources & Appendix page, with the primary references behind every figure we publish.
PowerLink’s response is to put generation where the fuel already is, and to put the load next to the generation. That means modular systems sized to a resource rather than to a utility service territory, deployed at the wellhead, at the waste stockpile, or in the canal — and sold to buyers who are choosing between on-site power and waiting.
Nothing described on this site is operational at commercial scale today. Site statuses reflect internal stage assessments, and descriptions of the model are statements of intent rather than results.
The four verticals
One platform, four feedstocks. Each converts a stranded or overlooked resource into reliable power at the source, and each has its own page with the process detail, the evidence, and the risks stated plainly.
- Stranded Gas — Productive natural gas with no pipeline to market, converted to electricity at the wellhead — at the point of demand.
- Tire & Plastic Waste — Environmental liabilities become infrastructure fuel — steel, rubber composites, low-carbon diesel, and propane recovered by design.
- Critical Minerals — Power and resources are converging. PowerLink is positioned at both: stranded energy and the minerals that build AI infrastructure.
- Hydro — Energy sovereignty for the Kingdom of Eswatini — stranded canal flow, waste streams, and solar converted to reliable baseload.
How we work
Evidence before assertion
Every quantitative claim on this site carries a bracketed footnote that resolves to a named primary source — LBNL, IEA, USGS, EIA, NREL, PJM, the World Bank, ASCE, and Wood Mackenzie among them — with the as-of date attached. Where a number is our own engineering estimate rather than a published figure, we say so at the point the number appears.
Stage discipline
Sites are labelled prospective, pre-development, or development, and those labels mean what they say. A prospective site is a position we are evaluating, not one we have committed to build.
Standardization over invention
Where a design works, the objective is to replicate it rather than re-engineer it per site. Rebuilt reciprocating engines for stranded gas and a single drop-in canal turbine design for hydro both reflect that preference — replication is a schedule and cost argument, not an engineering one.
Risk stated in the open
Each vertical page ends with what has to go right. Permits are applied for, not held. The Eswatini power purchase agreement is in negotiation, not executed. The tire and plastic digestion process has not been demonstrated at commercial scale.
